What type of logo do you want?
Just Text
A Name Logo (as above)
This is when the name stands on its own without a symbol. Often uses a unique treatment of type, It can have other elements built in to the design but in time becomes a typographic symbol. Great when the name expresses the business.

Text within the symbol
A Built-in Symbol Logo (as above)
These logos rely on the name but also have graphic elements which are not separated by contrast with Symbol + Name logos. Combining the name and the graphic can make the logo more memorable and more meaningful.

Symbol in the text
A Typographic Symbol Logo (as above)
Uses the initial letters of the business name to create a unique graphic symbol, but can include other elements. Monograms of one or more letters are Typographic Symbol logos. Used in conjunction with the name just like Symbol + Name logos.

Symbol seperate from text
Symbol + Name Logos (as above)
What many people first think of - a symbol which is separate from the name. Best when one element dominates, as if both elements are too strong it can reduce memorability. Businesses sometimes focus more on one element as they grow.
